§       Served as Acting Director during time of significant organizational transition.

§       Coordinated Earth Ministry’s (EM) overall fundraising plan; edited/authored the book Food and Faith: Justice, Joy, and Daily Bread; frequently taught and led retreats and workshops locally and nationally on topics such as eco-justice, sustainable economics and agriculture, and simpler living.

§       Shared primary responsibility for development and delivery of EM programs; edited/authored the book and study-guide Simpler Living, Compassionate Life: A Christian Perspective (SLCL); Assistant Editor, proofreader of the journal Earth Letter.

§       Co-managed overseas development projects; developed budgets and co-wrote proposals; recruited consultants and facilitated overseas assignments.

§       Lobbied, reported, and wrote about the Environmental Protection Agency's FY '90 budget and issues such as groundwater, federal farm policy, and pesticides.

 

Wilderness Backpacking and Rock-Climbing Guide, Sierra Treks           1992, 1996

§       Led ten- to twelve-day wilderness backpacking and rock-climbing trips; designed and led educational curriculum for each trip.

 

Park Ranger, Rock Creek National Park, Washington, DC                        1991

§       Developed and led eight-week environmental education programs, and natural science/history interpretive programs; wrote nature-trail guides.

 

Aquacultural Researcher, Issaan Development Foundation, Thailand    1986

§       Studied the Thai language; carried out phytoplankton identification and nutrient quality study of fishponds on a sixty-acre farm.
